November 9, 2009 - Build 909

Automatic Email History Notes

With this feature enabled at the bottom of your email window, you no longer have to click a button to create a history note about emails you have sent. The program will automatically record in Contact Manager the date and time emails were sent - including batch emails sent from your query results screens!

New Email Dynamic

It's hard to believe that the email functions in Caterease could be improved at all, but we found a way! The email window used to be a "dialog box" - meaning once it was opened, you could not work elsewhere in the program until you closed it. Now, the email window is just another window. Minimize it; maximize it; work elsewhere; copy and paste text to or from the email with the window left open. The best email system in the industry just got even better!

Inactive Employee Alerts

You can make an employee "Inactive", so that he or she will no longer be visible when you select staff for an event - even though you have not deleted him or her from your system. Any events that employee is already scheduled to work will provide conflict messages.

October 13, 2009 - Build 906

Multiple Menu Item Deletion

Now you can highlight multiple items on the Food/Service tab in Event Manager (hold your Ctrl or Shift key down as you click), and then click the Delete Item button to delete all selected items. Caterease not only eliminates repetitive typing, but repetitive clicking as well!

New "Copy to Menu Manager" Dynamic

The brand new feature that allows you to change a menu item on the fly in an event and then copy those changes back to your default menus has already been improved! Now, after you edit the item and select Copy to Menu Manager from your right mouse click options, you can elect to either copy it over the existing item or as a brand new one in any of your menus. It doesn't get any more flexible than that!

Credit Card Settings in Express Version

Express version users now have access to credit card settings in the Global Settings window. These settings allow you to password protect credit card information, and optionally have that information deleted from the program after a certain number of days.

September 30, 2009 - Build 890

Default Menu Item Description

This is a huge help when you're creating or editing menus in Menu Manager! Now, when you edit the Name of a menu item (or create a new name), the Description of that menu item will automatically update to reflect that change. For example, if you have an item with the Name "Lite Start Buffet" - and if first line of the Description of that item is also "Lite Start Buffet" (in your own custom font style, color, etc.) - then when you change the Name to "Breakfast Buffet" the first line of your Description changes to match.

Proposal Item Quantity Linking

When you choose menu items for a proposal in Prospect Manager, you can now link the quantities of those items to the guest count of the proposed party - just like you do in Event Manager!

Proposal Item Default Quantity

Similar to the feature above, you can now also use the flexible "Default Menu Item Quantity" feature in a Prospect Manager proposal the same way you would in Event Manager. For example, if "Podium" is one of your menu items, you might want it to always default to a quantity of "1" whenever you select it for an event or proposal.

September 21, 2009 - Build 883

Selected Day Viewer

This powerful tool allows Professional version users to see all the event details they want in any event calendar display. Using this custom viewer, you can show any selected details from all events on a particular date or group of dates. You can even print the details directly from the viewer window, or export them to Excel, text files or PDF's!

Event Status History

This helpful new event management tool lets you instantly review the status changes that have been made to a party, including the user who changed the status, the date and time it was changed and even how many days a party remained on a particular status. You even have the option to color-code the details, or to print the grid or export it to Excel, .txt file or pdf.

Batch Processing in Menu Manager

You can highlight multiple menu items in Menu Manager and right click to change all of those records at one time! Make changes to such details as item "Type", "Cost", "Price", "Category" - and a host of other options!

September 15, 2009 - Build 879

Field Localization

You can rename a variety of fields throughout the program - coming up with your own custom terms or even translating them into foreign languages. These changes will be reflected everywhere in the program where these fields are referenced, including screens, queries, prints, reports, etc.

Food/Service Item Time

Now there is an optional time field associated with each individual menu item in a party, so you can indicate a specific time that item needs to be prepared. Times can be printed on the contract or other event prints, allowing for a limitless and dynamic timeline for any event!

Enhanced User Security

Security has been completely revamped to more closely resemble the security of a Windows operating system. It now includes dynamic groups and security setting inheritance. You can now create and manage custom security groups to establish permissions for an entire group of users as opposed to having to set them all up individually.

September 8, 2009 - Build 873

Customer Loyalty Tracking

You can use the new "Loyalty #" field to track revenue generated by your repeat customers - or rename it to something else (like "Member Number) to track revenue that way. Basically, each client can have a custom Loyalty Number, which each contact person for that client will adopt (or you can give contact people unique numbers). When that client and contact person books a new event, that number is reflected in that event - and will even optionally update whenever you change the event's contact person! Then, of course, you can run queries based on that detail to determine specific revenue generated!

Sales Representative Forecasts

Now you can enter forecasted revenue for each of your sales representatives (or for the company as a whole) for each month of several years, and then compare those forecast to the actual sales.

Event User Defined Value

Perhaps you need to track a unique value related to each event, such as the Subtotal and the Tax (but not the Gratuity or the Service Charge). Now you can create your own custom "Event Value" but choosing which values you want to add together.
